Don Diego Sportfishing offers premier fishing charters year round in Key West.  We also offer summer and fall action off the New Jersey shore out of Atlantic City.

Our Boats

Our fleet is built to fish every environment we call home—from the backcountry and flats of Key West to the offshore reefs, wrecks, and canyons of New Jersey. Each boat is modern, meticulously maintained, tournament-inspired, and equipped with premium electronics and tackle to deliver a first-class fishing experience.

Our Crew

Captain Anthony Solmo

Captain Anthony  has spent his entire life in South Florida. He grew up fishing both the East and West coasts, he was able to learn and master the best techniques from anyone who was willing to teach him.

Shortly after high school, Captain Anthony moved to Key West to pursue his dream of guiding. He has been chartering people from all over the world ever since. One of his greatest joys is seeing how excited his customers get when they pull their fish to the boat. He has worked his way to being one of the top guides in the Keys and is always ready to put you on a fish of a lifetime.

Captain Tyler Samaniego

Captain Tyler Samaniego was born and raised in South Florida in a fishing family and has spent his life on the water. He began his career as a commercial fisherman, developing the skills, versatility, and work ethic needed to consistently find fish in all conditions. His passion and dedication led him to become one of Key West’s most respected professional fishing guides.

Captain Tyler specializes in both offshore and backcountry fishing, targeting species such as tarpon, permit, bonefish, snapper, grouper, mahi, tuna, and more. Whether helping experienced anglers chase trophy fish or creating unforgettable family fishing adventures, he is known for his knowledge, enthusiasm, and commitment to delivering a great day on the water. 

Ryan Persinger, Mate

Ryan has has been fishing his whole life, splitting his time between the legendary fisheries of the Jersey Shore and the vibrant blue water of Key West. He developed a passion for chasing offshore pelagics, honing his skills targeting sailfish, yellowfin and blackfin tuna, mahi-mahi, wahoo, and a long list of other hard-charging species. 

While Ryan is at home running the edge for big-game fish, he’s equally skilled on the inshore grounds, reefs, and wrecks. He has spent years perfecting techniques for snapper, grouper, flounder, sea bass, and other structure-oriented species, mastering everything from precision bottom fishing to stealthy shallow-water approaches.

Joseph Chandler, Mate

Joseph grew up in South Florida, where fishing and the outdoors have always been a major part of his life. For the past year, he has been running fishing charters in Key West and enjoys helping guests create unforgettable experiences on the water.

 

Before joining the charter business Joseph proudly served on active duty in the United States Air Force. His military background taught him discipline, professionalism, and the importance of putting safety and customer experience first.

 

When he is not running charters, Joseph enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.

With more time to cover water, you'll have the opportunity to target multiple species throughout the day. Depending on the season and conditions, you may pursue tarpon, permit, bonefish, snook, sharks, barracuda, mangrove snapper, cobia, and other exciting inshore and nearshore game fish. Your captain will tailor the day's itinerary based on tides, weather, and current fishing conditions to give you the best chance at a successful trip.

Tarpon

Join us for an unforgettable evening on the water as we target Key West's most iconic game fish—the legendary tarpon. This 4-hour evening charter runs when cooler temperatures and changing light conditions often create some of the best opportunities to hook into these powerful fish. On this trip you'll fish some of the area's most productive tarpon waters with an experienced local captain.

Throughout the trip, you'll target rolling tarpon along channels, bridges, and other prime feeding areas, with your captain adjusting locations based on tides, bait activity, and current conditions. Jersey Shore

Inshore Fluke Adventure

Enjoy a relaxed and family-friendly 4-hour fishing trip exploring the protected back bays and channels of Atlantic City. These shallow, calm waters are prime habitat for summer flounder—better known locally as fluke—one of the Jersey Shore’s most popular and delicious game fish. We’ll drift along tidal flats, drop-offs, and channel edges where fluke ambush bait, giving anglers plenty of chances for steady action.

Back Bay and Reef Combo

This 6-hour trip gives you the flexibility to fish both the sheltered back bays and the productive nearshore reefs and wrecks just off Atlantic City. We’ll start by working tidal channels and flats for fluke, then make our way out the inlet to target sea bass, larger fluke, and other structure-loving species on the reefs.

During the warm summer months, this trip can even offer a shot at bonus pelagics—like mahi-mahi—that sometimes gather around nearshore pots and buoys. With the extra range and time, we can fish deeper nearshore wrecks, explore midshore structure, and run to productive offshore temperature breaks where pelagics begin to roam.

You’ll target fluke and sea bass on powerful offshore wrecks, then push outward for shots at summer pelagics like mahi-mahi, false albacore, bonito, and even the occasional school-sized tuna when conditions line up. The extended day allows us to cover more ground, switch techniques, and stay mobile—putting you in the best position when bait, birds, or temperature edges come alive.

If you’re looking for a serious day of fishing beyond the typical inshore grounds, this trip delivers high adventure, diverse species, and the potential for memorable offshore action.
